‘A smaulle village stonding on a little brooke’

Tretower (Tretŵr) is a small village in the picturesque Bannau Brycheiniog National Park at the foot of the Black Mountains.  This beautiful rural village is famous for its medieval court and motte and bailey castle.

The Victorian Tretower Village Hall was built for Sir Joseph Russell Bailey of Glanusk Park by J L Pearson after he completed the adjacent church of St John the Evangelist for the Glanusk Estate in 1876-7. It is now owned by The Trustees of the Glanusk  Charitable Trust.

The hall is available for hire and is managed by the Tretower Village Hall Association Management Committee.  This volunteer committee also organises a programme of regular events for the local community.
